Ubisoft ne gubi vreme. Neće proći ni godinu dana, a Ubisoft će izbaciti novi nastavak popularne igre.

Citat:Assassin’s Creed 3 has been given a release date by Ubisoft. We go hunting for more facts about this highly anticipated follow-up.

Published on Feb 16, 2012

Assassin’s Creed 3 isn’t exactly a secret. Ubisoft has made no attempt to hide that the series would continue long after Ezio’s story came to a close in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, sparking speculation as to where the series would go next.

Just recently, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 3 is in the works and is headed to consoles on 30th October 2012 in the States, giving the publisher plenty of time to drip-feed nuggets of information along the way.

But rather than wait around for the information to come to us, we’ve decided to play detective and investigate deeper into what we already know about Assassin’s Creed 3, as well as some popular rumours.

But more importantly, what would YOU like to see in Assassin’s Creed 3? Let us know in the comment box below.

Assassin’s Creed 3’s release date
As we’ve discussed, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot confirmed the Assassin’s Creed 3 release date recently, during a company investor call. The October 30th 2012 date ties in with the 2012 doomsday plot that has run throughout the Assassin’s Creed series.

With Desmond and his gang of Scooby Doo cohorts racing around the globe to stop a world-ending cataclysm since Assassin’s Creed 2, it seems likely that the chase will heat up going into the third instalment, making the release window all the more relevant. Speaking of which…

Assassin’s Creed 3’s plot
Assassin’s Creed Revelations creative director Alexandre Amancio has confirmed that the doomsday scenario – a threat that has cast a shadow over the entire Assassin’s Creed series so far - will feature prominently in Assassin’s Creed 3.

In an Assassin’s Creed Revelations interview Amancio explained, “We decided in this opus of the franchise to actually give the players a lot of the answers that they’ve sort of been thirsting for ever since AC II.”

“A lot of things were set up with Minerva, with Juno, a lot of the details about the end of the world plotline in 2012 – as we’re getting closer and closer to the actual 2012 marker, the franchise is also concluding its major opus. So this game is sort of where we’re setting all the record straight.”

So while Amancio was on the money about Revelations tying up the story of Altair and Ezio, the doomsday scenario is still a prevalent, unresolved issue that Ubisoft has been building up to since the series started.

Anyone who has played through the series so far will tell you that Desmond is still learning how to halt this catastrophe, and what better way to have him tackle it head on than in Assassin’s Creed 3?

In addition to this, Ubisoft Montreal's Falko Poiker told NowGamer at Gamescom 2011, "Our entire job with Revelations was to create a platform that sets up the next game."

"I think it does it very well. It really completes all the other stories, and leaves a clean slate for the next game to come. It also makes it much easier for the next team to take the franchise where they want it to go."

Assassin’s Creed 3’s three-year development schedule
Since the superb Assassin’s Creed 2 launched, the Ezio trilogy delivered increasingly diminishing returns, garnering lower review scores with each instalment. They weren’t bad games by any measure, but the yearly release schedule was clearly beginning to take its toll on Ubisoft’s creative process.

In reality, both games were simply keeping the seat warm while Ubisoft Montreal developed Assassin’s Creed 3. It’s been three years since Assassin’s Creed 2 improved upon and reinvented some areas that let the first game down.

Protracted development schedules usually mean that a studio is reworking mechanics that are staple to a series, or building new assets and gameplay elements from scratch, hinting at something very special indeed.

But don’t take our word for it, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillmot recently confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 3 would deliver some huge advances, "We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working on for three years. What we have seen is just fabulous."

Assassin’s Creed 3’s launch
Yves Guillemot also stated that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be “The biggest launch in Ubisoft history”, confirming that the publisher is confident of the game’s success. Based on the strong sales history of the series, it’s safe to assume that Assassin’s Creed 3 will spark new interest in the franchise.

Assassin’s Creed 3’s new main character
In an interview, Assassin’s Creed Revelations creative director Alexandre Amancio confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 3 “Will be about another character.” No details have been revealed so far, and it’s impossible to theorise the identity of the new protagonist from information already available.

But the confirmation of a new character also practically confirms that Assassin’s Creed 3 will focus on another of Desmond’s ancestors, and with it, a brand new setting or time period.

Assassin’s Creed 3’s American Revolution setting
Sources that are said to be close to Ubisoft have been hinting – via multiple game sites - that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be set during the American Revolution. Given the series’ penchant of dropping images of the Declaration of Independence signing, and the founding fathers, this setting would tie in perfectly.

The signing of the Declaration of Independence took place in July 1776 and this date, as well as the signing itself have featured prominently in Subject 16’s cluster puzzles in Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

Along with other motifs, this image has been linked to the creation of Templar rule in America throughout the Assassin’s Creed series, so having Desmond witness the creation of an American Templar league in Assassin’s Creed 3 would bring the series full circle rather nicely.

Assassin’s Creed 3’s links to new Assassin’s Creed Revelations DLC
Gaming site Xbox 360 Achievements recently obtained an achievement list for a new pack of Assassin’s Creed Revelations DLC. The DLC appears to be story-based, as all of the achievement icons are blue.

In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, story based achievements are white symbols on a blue background, while multiplayer achievements are blue symbols on a white background, suggesting that this is a single player DLC pack.

Interestingly enough, the first DLC achievement is called ‘Part of the Creed’, and the description reads, “Take the induction leap of faith.’ The question is – who is this new assassin inductee?

There is no current release date or price for the DLC pack. Interestingly, one achievement is called, “Impress Warren Vidic” and the descriptor reads, “Complete the Animus testing sequence without falling.”

This suggests that you could be playing a new test subject under the watchful eye of Abstergo chief Warren Vidic – and therefore – a new villain out to challenge Desmond, but the evidence stops there.

it could be argued that this is just another multiplayer DLC pack - thanks to the mention of Vidic - but again, the colour of the acheivement icons suggest otherwise.
