Mint revolucija-Linux Mint Debian 201108 RC (Gnome and Xfce)
Linux Mint tim je nedavno objavio RC verziju Linux Mint Debian 201108 koja je rolling distribucija bazirana na Debian Testing repozitorije. Ovo bi trebalo da doprinese većoj stabilnosti sistema i samoj robusnosti. Znamo da je popularni Ubuntu baziran na Debian unstable verziji DEbian repozitorija.
Može se primjetiti da Mint se lagano odvaja od praćenja Ubuntu-a i pokušava da napravi još bolju distribuciju koja će biti bazirana na Debian Testing.

Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) is a rolling distribution based on Debian Testing.
It’s available in both 32 and 64-bit as a live DVD with Gnome or Xfce.
The purpose of LMDE is to look identical to the main edition and to provide the same functionality while using Debian as a base.

Po meni je klasicna verzija 50000 puta bolja, jer Ubuntu ima zilijardu puta vise unofficial ppa repoa, nego Debian, pa nemora bas sve sto nema u zvanicnom, da se kompajlira.
Све зависи од укуса. Рендеровање фонтова је изузетно добро на LMDE,можда и најбоље од свих Линукса су одрадили рендеровање.
И зависи коме треба који софтвер. Ако није нека тешка алтернатива,онда нема компајлирања.
Изгледа да су напустили ову дистрибуцију.

Ovo je Rolling-Realase distribucija, tako da sve se menja kroz update, nemora stalno nova verzija.
Aко је некоме тешко да једном годишње избаци нову верзију,jaсно је да је фокус на Mintu који је базиран на Ubuntu грани,а не на LMDE.
Багови се јављају (између осталог) јер се ради надоградња система који је стар више од годину дана. У том смислу,сами себи праве проблем ако не избацују новију верзију.
Pročitaj. Nema potrebe za objavljivanjem novih verzija često, ažuriranje se već vrši često. Možda ti se čini bagovitijim jer je baziran na Debianu, samim tim namenjen malo naprednijim korisnicima (velik procenat korisnika Minta čine početnici, pa je jasno da će da se više usredsrede na Ubuntu-baziranu verziju).
