Today, the GNOME Project celebrates the release of GNOME 2.14, the latest
version of the popular, multi-platform Free desktop environment.
Released on schedule, to the day, it is the culmination of six months effort
by GNOME contributors around the world: hackers, documentors, usability and
accessibility specialists, translators, maintainers, sysadmins, companies,
artists, users and testers. Due to their hard work, we have another great
release to be proud of - thanks very much to every contributor!
Some of the key new features:
* The creation of an admin suite, including a lock down editor, Pessulus, and a user profile editor, Sabayon
* A new search bar, called Deskbar, which can search through local files, programs and contacts as well as on the web
* Ekiga, the VoIP client formerly known as GNOME Meeting. It can now communicate using the SIP protocol which is already used by Google Talk, Asterisk and others.
* Performance work, making your desktop even snappier
* The ability to switch users quickly, without logging off
* Even easier configuration, allowing GNOME 2.14 to adapt to different users needs

Gnome 2.16.0 RC1 (2.15.92) released

Hard code freeze is quickly approaching : this means that we're pretty

fixing the most important bugs that are still out there, localizing the
whole desktop or updating our documentation.

Konacno!
Vec dva dana nicu i nestaju vesti o izdavanju Gnoma 2.16
Koliko sa ja video sa screenshotova, najvece unapredjenje je Metacity - od sada ume da koristi `composition` ekstenziju X servera. Kao XFCE 4.4.
Lepo izgleda stvarno

bzip ima malo bolju kompresiju, pa je velicina malo manja, inace je isto
