alsamixer does work? If it does, set the volume by using it. And then use this command (as root) to store the settings:
alsactl store

AC97 based sound cards do work on Linux. So I guess only problem here are improper settings.
How did you try to fix it?
Did you try with alsaconf?
Btw, there's a really good article on ALSA in Linux Journal (just a notice, not connected to your question).

Ok. And what does it say when you try running alsamixer?
Open Gnome terminal and type in:
alsamixer
Take a screenshot and attach it to your response.

i fix the problem. First i removed hole alsa drivers .... and installed again.
and for the sound, i just didnt have permisions.
chmod 666 /dev/mixer
chmod 666 /dev/snd/*
but still has one problem , when i restart the permisions are the same like at the begginig and again i dont have permisions for the sound.
So can you tell me how can i set the permissions to be added forever, because now after every restart i need to add the permissions with those commands

You should look at init scripts /etc/init.d. It is possible that some script is setting the permissions.
Another option is that debconf is messing someting. You could also look at /etc/sysinit settings.
I would bet that the solution is in editing some script from there or messing with debconf.
There is possibilty you could write your own script to set the right permissions if you fail to locate the source of the problem.
