Odlicna tema, svaka cast za istu!!!

Ne zaboravite naravno na kultni Queensryche i fenomenalni konceptualni im album Operation Mindcrime:

1. I Remember Now
2. Anarchy - X
3. Revolution Calling
4. Operation: Mindcrime
5. Speak
6. Spreading The Disease
7. The Mission
8. Suite Sister Mary
9. The Needle Lies
10. Electric Requiem
11. Breaking The Silence
12. I Don't Believe In Love
13. Waiting For 22
14. My Empty Room
15. Eyes Of A Stranger

"Operation: Mindcrime" is indeed a concept album and is even verging on a rock opera. It tells the story of Nikki a street-wise punk who relies on his addiction to keep going who becomes a hit man for an underground group. Mary is a long-suffering girl who after living by a prostitute is seemingly rescued by Father William but once again ends up being left open to abuse. Dr X is an evil twisted leader of an underground group that on the outside is a freedom-fighting group but beyond the publics knowledge lays o dark secret. These characters lives start separately but this story and this concept is knitted together fantastically as the plot develops. To tell you the whole story would take ages, but now more importantly onto the songs.

Track-by-track guide:

01 - I Remember Now - We open with a scene setter “I Remember Now.” Here we hear a half dazed patient confused as the nurse puts him to sleep. His words are haunting and this is incredibly atmospheric and is a perfect to set the mood.

02 - Anarchy X - The mood continues in the short instrumental “Anarchy X” this also sets the scene especially of the political side of this novel as crowds are heard screaming for revolution.

03 - Revolution Calling - It is the first full song and it is by all means a classic and one of the most well known songs from the album. The lyrics are deeply socialistic and incredibly thought provoking. But lyrically aside this is a fantastic song! Vocally Tate is sensational throughout and excels in the chorus. He hits the high notes and they are unbelievably high effortlessly and flawlessly. The guitars are strong and powerful and the song is in general a great one and the anthem of the album.

04 - Operation: Mindcrime - The title track is not one of my favourite tracks but is a strong song none the less. It is another atmospheric track that does a lot of story telling and gives us the background of Nikki. Again haunting lyrically as Nikki’s background and involvement with Dr X begins, all in all a solid piece.

05 - Speak - It starts off with a very memorable riff and doesn’t disappoint in general. This is another deeply socialistic song that also covers the public message of the socialist group. Some interesting ideas are conveyed such as ‘Burning the Whitehouse down.’ With a memorable riff and solid vocals from Tate it is a strong track again.

06 - Spreading The Disease - It is the story of Mary and her life of suffering. It contains another haunting line as to the priests actions “He takes her every week on the altar like a Sacrifice” As well as by the end a full blown political message. This song contains a great riff, with a great quick paced drumbeat to back it up. Tate is vocally at his very best again here and it’s unbelievable how he hits some of the notes here, as it goes from verse to chorus it is incredible how Tate belts it out. Great song.

07 - The Mission - This atmospheric progressive metal piece opens with the words of a preacher and then slides into Nikki’s assassination of the priest. This is another strong song, and again Tate is strong vocally. This involves a great guitar solo too. It conveys Nikki’s confusion and develops the love story that every good story needs perfectly. It shows the way Nikki’s head has been manipulated.

08 - Suite Sister Mary - The album's epic. More subtle vocals from Tate as well as the atmospherics from the backing church coir vocals (!) and musical side is great in the first 3 minutes until it picks up pace wise without losing the atmospherics. Of course this is the big story teller and develops the love story and Nikki’s choice whether he can follow orders to kill his lover or not. The central (master)piece of the album!

09 - The Needle Lies - This speaks of Nikki's confrontation with DR X and the pain of his addiction. It’s refreshing to hear anti drugs from a metal band in the 80’s. The drumbeat is phenomenal again as is Tate’s vocals the guy is absolutely sensational. Again this is powerful, high range singing and as ever the emotion comes out in abundance. This is once again a great song.

10 - Electric Requiem - It is another scene setter as Nikki finds Mary dead in her room apparently she’s committed suicide and again this is incredibly atmospheric. This is as I said a scene setter but it contains a short display of vocals, which are once again incredibly impressive and softer than others in this album!

11 - Breaking The Silence - Conveys Nikki’s frustration and emotion after losing Mary as he calls but no answers. This is one of the more catchy songs and was one that stood out early it is again impressive and solid in every department. This is one of my favourite tracks on the album. Time and time again I am left in awe of Tate’s vocals and also listen out for a nice DeGarmo solo.

12 - I Don't Believe In Love - Continues the trend and is almost a case of Nikki trying to forget Mary. A real earworm song, without sounding too commercial. In truth it is a sorrowful anthem about losing the belief in love and it's connecting ideals. Again you can’t fault any department and once again Tate’s vocals soar through it and it’s a pleasure to listen to as always. There is also some nice guitar work, with a crunching and catchy riff here and DeGarmo proves he can belt out a solo, without being over the top he makes a tuneful impressive solo.

13 - Waiting For 22 - Next is another scene setter and the second instrumental of the album “Waiting for 22” Sure you would not consider it as a great instrumental song in it’s own right but that’s not it’s design, it’s design is to build up what’s to follow and it does so brilliantly. The eerie tune works wonders.

14 - My Empty Room - Another short interlude, that once again contains speech and a vocal display by Tate, both of these link us to the last song and work wonders building up the ending! Conveying Nikki’s emotion before he’s taken away as we await the ending.

15 - Eyes Of A Stranger - The ending comes in “Eyes of a Stranger” one of the softer and all be it stronger tracks on the album. This closes the story as we are taken back to the hospital where the story begins. All readers of this will be sick of hearing this but we are once again treated to some marvellous vocals from Tate. Haunting, atmospheric it is a perfect closure it’s one of the longer songs to at 6:38. The suspected is confirmed as it is Nikki who was speaking at the beginning, his finishing words while inconclusive are haunting “I remember now”. The end ?

@deathangel

Wikipedia ::The concept album genre overlaps with rock opera, of which the most famous early example is The Who's aforementioned Tommy. The genre also overlaps to a lesser extent with rock musical, of which a famous early example is Hair (1967).

Amazon review ::...Sure, there's plenty of trademark Cave here, but Murder Ballads is a fascinating concept album that uses the narrative ballad form of the English folk tradition to tell of murder: random deaths, passion crimes, and killing sprees, all in one package...

Pink FLoyd - Dark Side of the Moon

The Dark Side of the Moon (titled in the 1993 CD release as Dark Side of the Moon) is a concept album by the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released in 1973. The album was a landmark in rock music, as it featured radio-friendly songs such as "Money," "Time," "Us and Them," and "Brain Damage/Eclipse", which incorporated ethereal, concrete sound techniques. Some music critics use the album as a point of reference in determining between "classic" blues rock and the then-new genre of electronic music. However, the work's softer touches of lyrical and musical nuance make Dark Side stand apart from its peers.

The Dark Side of the Moon explores the nature of the human experience with themes such as birth, time, greed, conflict, travel, mental illness, and death. The album is considered by many fans and critics to be the band's magnum opus and is generally hailed as the record that defined their sound.

All four members of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright, participated in the writing and production of the album, although it is the first of five consecutive Pink Floyd albums with lyrics completely credited to Roger Waters. The Dark Side of the Moon has spent 741 weeks on the USA-based Billboard 200 album chart, the longest duration in history. It is also the fifth highest selling album globally of all time, selling more than forty million units.

Concept:
The Dark Side of the Moon deals conceptually with the pressures of modern life that can drive normal human beings to insanity: materialism, the increased pace of life and travel, the encroachment of old age and death, and the inhumanities of society and armed conflict. These themes are not just delivered by words but are suggested with the sounds of the album. For example, the sound of an airplane crash in the track "On the Run" can represent a fear of flight. "Time" discusses how quickly life can and will slip by those who are unaware of it and uses actual alarm bells to wake the listener at the beginning of the track. "The Great Gig in the Sky," which had a working title of "The Mortality Sequence," comments on the nature of death as a sad state of being, evidenced by the sounds of the screaming woman throughout this generally instrumental track. The lyrics and sound effects of "Money" flippantly endorse greed for ironic effect, and states that it is "the root of all evil today." "Us and Them" deals with interpersonal conflict, the insanity of warfare and xenophobia. The meaning of "Any Colour You Like" is not as clear as the other songs, but it is thought to represent the fear of taking risks when making choices — the song title came from an answer frequently given by a studio technician to questions put to him: "You can have it any colour you like," which was a reference to Henry Ford's description of the Model T: "You can have it any color you like, as long as it's black." "Brain Damage" reaches out to the outsiders ("lunatics") who may be the only people that recognise society's faults. It also is about their former member Syd Barrett, who was forced to leave the band due to mental illness. Finally, "Eclipse" describes the true essence of a person through the impact they have left on others.

Precursors to the Dark Side concept can be found in many of Pink Floyd's earlier works. The band had previously performed a conceptual piece, The Man and the Journey, based on the everyday life of a man during their 1969 European tour. Roger Waters' lyrical obsession with insanity was in part precipitated by the departure of Syd Barrett (a founding member of Pink Floyd) following his mental collapse. Perhaps most important to the gestation of Dark Side is the song "Echoes" from "Meddle," which also deals with interpersonal relationships using progressive ambient music. However, the decision to tackle individual parts of life in an album-length concept work is said to have been conceived during a band meeting in Nick Mason's kitchen circa late 1971.

In a small garden shed-turned-recording studio at his home, Roger Waters both wrote all of the lyrics in the album and created the early demo tracks. It was in there he also created the intro to Money by experimenting with dropping a range of monetary objects.

QUEENSRYCHE
Operation:Mindcrime II

The story picks up 18 years after the events of Operation: Mindcrime, on the day that Nikki is released from prison. During his incarceration, Nikki has been unable to let go of his hatred for Dr. X; who has since become rich and powerful, and is preoccupied with thoughts of revenge. He still harbors resentment against what he views as a totally corrupt government. The training (or brainwashing) he received from Dr. X still has a strong hold over Nikki, but he is still conflicted. While he still feels the need to carry out his revolutionary mission, his thoughts drift to Mary.

Nikki wastes no time in landing in trouble with the law once again, and at his trial his pleas for mercy and leniency are lost on a judge and jury still remembering his past crimes. This only deepens his disdain for the government, the legal system and Dr. X, whom he blames for all of his problems. After Nikki escapes and finds himself yet again on the run from the law, his own need for revenge coupled by a vision of the ghost of Mary turns his thoughts toward killing Dr. X.

As the final confrontation with Dr. X gets closer, Nikki starts to have doubts. He questions himself and wonders if it isn’t really his own fault that his life is as bad as it is. Nikki does finally track down Dr. X, crashing his motorcycle into X's limo and dragging a disoriented Dr. X to the church where Mary died, where Nikki finally shoots and kills him. (This section in particular is vague on the album, as it is suggested, but not explicitly stated in the lyrics or played out in the songs that Nikki kills Dr. X. The live performance of Operation: Mindcrime II; however, removes any ambiguity over what happened between them). He gets no satisfaction from killing Dr. X, but rather feels just as empty as ever. The ghost of Mary appears, and appears to take pity on Nikki over the fact that revenge has not brought him any peace.

The ghost of Mary appears again and angrily exhorts Nikki to kill himself. It is unclear, however, if it is actually her or just Nikki imagining her. He starts to think that he is insane and contemplates suicide. Rustling through his belongings, he first picks up a gun, then a noose before finding the very thing that drove him to Dr. X in the first place: heroin. Nikki prepares and injects a lethal dose and dies. As the album ends, Nikki's spirit is reunited with Mary's, and together they reflect that the only times they were happy was in the moments that they were together.

Da nastavimo sa Rhapsody of Fire
Dawn of Victory (2000)

Hail to everyone!!! ...

...do you remember me? Yes, that's right, me, your friend Aresius of Elgard, ancient (but not too much, eh?...ha, ha, ha!) wizard of my beloved enchanted lands.
I told you about the situation of the enchanted lands threatened by the hellish army of Akron, known as the 'black king', in the first chapter of these chronicles. In the second one I revealed to you the secret of the emerald sword and how my valorous friend, known to you as the 'warrior of ice', was able to open the ivory gates and to finally handle it !
I want to tell you straight off that this third chapter will be no less valorous and tragic than the previous ones... probably too tragic even for my taste...! So now is the moment for you to learn everything that has happened since the chosen one left the magic portals behind him, riding to Ancelot with the magic weapon in his hand...
Enjoy this new tale of courage and pride and abandon yourself to the green valleys of the enchanted lands... where the mystical journey is about to begin again...!

- part III -

The emerald sword was glinting wildly in his valorous hands and his ride to Ancelot began at the first light of the new dawn. In village after village The Warrior of Ice was able to find new fighters ready to demonstrate their pride for the safety of the holy town of the Enchanted Lands. So, when he finally reached the rocky mountains surrounding the citadel, the chosen one could count on a real army ready to face the demonknights led by Dargor, prince of the darklands serving the cause of Akron.
The hero of Loregard didn't want to waste time anymore because the cries of Ancelot and its defender Arwald were desperate and touched his brave heart deeply. At his command the entire army of the enchanted lands raised its steel to the sky glorifying the holy war in the name of a future long peace with no innocent victims falling to satisfy the thirst for power of the darklands' lords.

From that moment onwards only king chaos dominated...

...after the legendary fight of the bravehearts against Dargor's army Ancelot was free once again and the warrior of ice could finally raise his divine steel in the air reeking of blood, as a sign of victory. Two proud warriors, the chosen one and Arwald, hero of the northern lands, led the valorous men of the enchanted lands to another great day that will be sung and remembered at the court of the kings by all the royal jesters in the following ages... But, as usual, war means free violence and cruelty and both could not restrain their tears of anger for all the innocent victims who fell on the dusty ground surrounding the citadel.

And the nightmare never seemed to end... Airin, Arwald's beloved princess of Ancelot, captured during the siege of the town together with another dozen of proud knights known in all the southern regions of the enchanted lands for their valour, was on the way to Hargor, hellish town of the darklands, located in the heart of chaos.

Dargor and his prisoners were now marching through the dragonlands and it seemed impossible to reach them before they reached the Akron's nest.

So in the following days, whilst organizing plans to free their imprisoned friends, The Warrior of Ice and Arwald could do nothing but wait for the inevitable demands advanced by the cruel black king...

The messenger of chaos finally came and the fear of all became tragic reality: the demons of Akron would impale, one by one all the prisoners if he didn't receive the legendary steel of the gods... yes, my friends, that's right... the mystical emerald sword. Oh, god... what hellish use could be made of that precious weapon...! But anyway something had to be done, and as soon as possible... so the decision was taken! Arwald and the warrior of ice would meet the black king in the center of Hargor, that godforsaken town of the darklands, and Akron would guarantee the life of the prisoners by exchanging it for the mystical emerald sword. But The Warrior of Ice knew that in the wrong hands this precious weapon could help the hellish king and his dreams of conquest...

And I can confirm to you that his thinking was correct, because, as I already told you in the first chapter of these chronicles, a bloody war between the 'Holy Alliance' and the hordes of Akron's empire was raging on the border between the southern lands and the darklands, and, as you also know, the power of the emerald sword could have also decided the destiny of wars! So, my dear friends, it is time to raise your faces to the sky and to call the mightiest of all the rages... oh, yes, that's right!... the bloody Rage Of The Titans!!!

Yes, dear friends, this is exactly what really happened, although your friend Aresius would never have liked to have told you...

When our two heroes finally arrived in Hargor, they immediately understood that it would have been really difficult to go back!

The vision was tragic... of the knights imprisoned during the siege of Ancelot nothing was left except their heads and limbs impaled in awful hellish geometry...

The message was clear and my two friends could do nothing other than attack as Furies about to die in the proudest way. But no... what the black king had planned for them was even more terrible... and I can assure you, I felt that something was not going right, being in mental contact with them most of the time ! Captured and imprisoned, after many days of torture the two warriors awakened in a dark cavern lit by seven torches. Heavy steel chains were limiting their movement. Airin, oh my god, yes, right, poor Airin, was in front of them, covered only by a black veil, on an unholy stone altar. Akron, his dream of handling the mighty emerald sword satisfied at last, was laughing before the altar together with all his demonknights shadowing the cavern and no sane mind would like to imagine what could have happened in the next moments...

No, I don't want to tell you...! but I have to..., because you all, my friends, have to understand how cruel and blasphemous the acts of a man can be, ...although it's difficult for me even to consider him as a man..., possessed by the evil forces of cosmic oblivion!

So... Airin, Arwald's beloved princess, was brutally raped by all the evil creatures of that hellish place in front of our two heroes and by Akron himself, still laughing and increasing his dark energy by the pain of suffering innocence.

Even the valorous Dargor, already trying to convince his king about the inanity of the trap and all this unfettered violence, felt himself constrained to condemn this horrible ritual of bloody depravation... the prince of the darklands, even if he swore his faithful to the cult of evil being educated by one of my biggest enemies, the wizard known as Vankar of Helm, had always tried to conciliate his acts with some ideals that often contrasted with Akron's philosophy... and now once again!

Returning to our tale... the ritual finished even more tragically... Airin was forced, with her last breath of life and looking for the last time at her beloved Arwald, to sink in the Sgral, a magic substance able to corrode the strongest steel.

And, after a while, her death was a reality...

Excuse me, my friends, if in this moment a tear is filling my old eye, but the tragedy is too big for an elderly, tormented heart like mine...

Arwald prayed to all the gods of the cosmos to be freed of that unholy vision and, being unable to endure the pain of it, he soon lost his senses...

Akron had prepared something special for everybody ...so the hero of the northern land was also tortured in every way possible and in the end he also was forced to become a victim of the terrible corrosive substance...

But in that moment the gods of the cosmos heard his call... with his last divine inner energy, with his legs burning in the acid, Arwald used his arms, already showing the white of the bones, to throw some of the green acid towards The Warrior of Ice. Destiny would have it that part of it splashed on the chains imprisoning the chosen one... The steel corroded and our hero was able to free himself... Arwald, with his death, had thus saved the life of our mutual friend. Armed only with stones from the cave, his mighty rage led him against the horde of evil and he was only able to avoid the deadly fury of Akron by throwing himself into the subterranean river, known as Aigor, which flowed through the cave and which carried him to the free air outside Hargor. After many moons, escaping through dark marshes and then over rocky mountains, he was finally able to reach his beloved valleys and then the forest of unicorns... only there could he feel himself finally safe... Sad, tired, hungry, enraged, furious... but at least safe... The emerald sword was now brightening in the hands of Akron and something had to be thought up and done before it was too late for our beloved enchanted lands !

Alright, my dear friends, my old body endured too much stress this time telling you this tragic tale, and so it is better if I rest for a time between the magic trees of this green valley, which have offered me hospitality for some moons. I will be back to you soon for the last chapter of these chronicles... I think the most intense, dramatic and epic that I will ever tell you!

So prepare yourself and in the meantime try to live your life with the same ideals of honesty and justice which fill the hearts of my valorous friends, ready to use the rage of the thunder to fight unfettered violence, so that another old wizard will be proud to tell the chronicles of your existence with the same epic enthusiasm...!

Djordje Matic u Vremenu br. 736 kaze ::
Ferus Mustafov, Macedonian Wedding Soul Cooking (Globestyle Recordings, 1995)

Makedonski alto-saksofonist i klarinetist Ferus Mustafov, inače akademski obrazovani muzičar, pokazuje suprotnu istinu. Svirač "germanski" discipliniranog tona i izuzetne tehnike, praćen grupom skopskih džezera te romskih, albanskih i makedonskih profesionalaca, "King Ferus" je čarobnjak iznenađujućih aranžmanskih rješenja koja nepripremljenoga slušaoca prepuštenog njegovoj muzici može doslovno izluditi. Macedonian Wedding, Ferusova jedina pristojno napravljena ploča, pravi je romski konceptualni album – muzička priča o "dramaturgiji" romske svadbe.

NINE INCH NAILS
The Downward Spiral

As a whole, The Downward Spiral is replete with Nietzschean concepts. It is a concept album based around the story of a character losing control of his life and finding himself on a downward spiral resulting from his choices. Its plot follows the character as he tries to rid himself of the trappings of religion and society, using sex and drug abuse as methods of escape. Eventually, this character has to face his internal void. The album culminates in the character's suicide due to the self-destructive nature of his endeavor. Reznor himself was, at the time, an alcoholic and drug addict (although he has announced that he has been sober since 2001). Trent Reznor himself has publicy stated he suffered from depression and is a sufferer of manic-depressive disorder.

COHEED AND CAMBRIA
The Second Stage Turbine Blade

The album introduces us to Coheed and his wife Cambria. Coheed is infected with a serum that will grant him the power to destroy the universe if activated.

Sanchez' website, www.evilinkcomics.net, sums up the story of this part: "Man and wife Coheed and Cambria are used as the centerpiece to enable Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan's attempt at destroying his archrival Mage, Mariah Antillarea. Due to a memory swiping years ago, the couple are lead to believe that their former lives have now come back to haunt them. They’re told by General Mayo Deftinwolf (Ryan's Right hand) that they were long ago implanted with a great threat to Heaven’s Fence, The Monstar Virus. A virus with the ability to turn its host (Coheed) into a being powerful enough to drain the Keywork's energy sources to spark Armageddon, while their dear old counterpart, Inferno was given the only means to unlock it. Through more lies, they are led to believe their children have genetically acquired a mutated form of the virus, the Sinstar. This new strain only requires its host to mature to a certain age, and has no antidote unlike the Monstar. Their children cannot be saved and time will not side with them. Coheed and Cambria are faced with an unimaginable dilemma: to murder their own children or face Armageddon."

COHEED AND CAMBRIA
In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3

The Ring in Return - This serves as an introductory piece. A telephone rings. Footsteps are heard and a woman answers the phone. From there, a piano interlude is played, a piece that will be familiar to those who have heard Second Stage Turbine Blade.

In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 - The first track proper. It starts with guitar and tension grows as a feedback-esque background riff is played. The drums come in, subtly. Then the metal riffing comes, continuing through the verse, as the drums become more powerful. If you've never heard Claudio's voice until now, it will become immediately recognizable and, despite it's high pitch, fits the music very well. Minimal background screaming accompanies the chorus. A solo caps off the first part and then the beginning of the song is recapitulated, returning to the chorus (complete with anthemic "oh-oh-oh-oh"s) and ending the song. It is a strong proper song to set up the rest of the album, especially after the opener.

Cuts Marked in the March of Men - Starts off with a riff that sounds like it's taken from a Castlevania soundtrack. This and the preceding track are mostly somber, lyrically, but the music truly drives it from becoming too much of a downer. Not the best track on the album, but still very good. The verse riff is memorable.

Three Evils (Embodied in Love and Shadow) - A more pop-punk influenced song. It's infectious, using instrumentation that should not be unfamiliar to anyone who's ever heard a pop-punk song. Don't get the wrong assumption, though. CoCa manages to keep the song strong lyrically. Also, the end part is likely to get stuck in your head for a while, moreso than even the other parts. Excellent use of backup vocals. The juxtaposition of this with the next track is delightful.

The Crowing - Driving guitars, bass, and drums set this song off. The chorus sets off the metal-influence with arpeggiated chords and light riffing to match the wistful lyrics/singing. The second half gets more intense and very metallic, complete with palm-muted riffing and pinch harmonic repetition, setting up another vocal display on top. A spacey feeling throughout another interlude, with a slight ATDI feel. The end comes first as an uncertain part, but then turns into a threatening revenge for the rest of the song, especially vocally.

Blood Red Summer - Another juxtaposition of styles. A very bouncy song where the bass and lead mix up with each other in a surf-like fashion, octaved by guitar while the rhythm chugs along. The style is familiar but fresh at the same time. Backup vocals work well, mostly. The bridge is another part likely to get stuck in your head after a listen or two. It sounds like CoCa suddenly turned into a teenage Cheap Trick tribute band, but not in a bad way. Some may be turned off by this song, but that's all a matter of stylistic preference. CoCa makes a habit of matching its two strong points of being catchy and intense.

The Camper Velourium I: Faint of Heart - Another riffy song. It's catchy in its own right but is also a slight song of longing. One of the less memorable moments on the album and I have little to say about it.

The Camper Velourium II: Backend of Forever - The drums punctuate the power chords in the intro while the lead guitar palm mutes somewhat menacingly, with the vocals matching the intensity. You can feel the insanity building up throughout the duration of this song in the vocals, lyrics, and instrumentation.

The Camper Velourium III: Al the Killer - This is where everything is unleashed lyrically. A slight piano part introduces the madness. The lead vocals are entirely backed by an insane, deeper tone doubling the words. The prechorus makes use of distanced screaming, as does the "response" part of the chorus. A highlight of the album, this song is perfectly devious and the instrumentation works incredibly well with the lyrics.

A Favor House Atlantic - More lighthearded than the previous song, it sports another catchy chorus and a nod to early metal in the verse. The drums are bombastic in parts and simply another part of the soundscape in others. Another good track.

The Light & The Glass - Much more laidback and quiet than any of the other tracks, even the introductory track. It has a certain lullaby-like quality until it drifts away to where the distortion kicks in in a nice transition. Even the Alannis Morissette-like "Liar" part fits in very well when the song returns to its lullaby-like beginnings for a moment, then picks back up where the distortion left off. More metallicness comes around the five-minute mark. The song then dies off in a keyboard drone as the voices echo away appropriately, again recapitulating the piano part from the intro, this time on a synth-xylophone.

2113 - The secret track! Number 23 on the cd, it encompasses much of the musical ground of CoCa. The bass has a dark mood to it, further exposing the malignant vocals as the lead guitar plays repetitive fills. That turns into another poppish-part, which then turns into a slow, menacing part. A lighthearted guitar part randomly appears, which also turns dark. This pattern continues until the very end. Again, for those familiar with Second Stage Turbine Blade will recognize the very end of this song. At a running time of 9:46, this song summarizes the musical territory of the entire album
